/help
List all commands or see how to use a specific one.
Overview
What is the /help command?
The /help command lists the commands available to you and shows the usage/syntax for any command you name. It reads your permission level, so it only shows what you're actually allowed to run.
It's the quickest in-game reference when you can't remember an argument order or which commands a server has enabled.
When to use it: Use /help when you forget a command's syntax or want to see which commands you have permission to use.

Frequently asked questions
- How do you see all commands in Minecraft?
- Run /help on its own for a paged list, or start typing / and the command suggestions appear above the chat box.
- How do you check a command's syntax?
- Type /help <command>, e.g. /help give, to see its arguments and usage.
- Why don't I see every command in /help?
- /help only lists commands your permission level allows, so non-operators see a shorter list than server admins.
